A communications specialist is expected to be a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, working well under pressure, and meeting deadlines. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. To ensure success, communications specialists
should be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external role-players.
The Communications Specialist’s responsibilities include managing public perception of a company, which incorporates developing communication strategies as well as understanding the importance of timing in setting messages. They will have experience responding to emergencies such as crises or setbacks with an eye on consistency across releases. The successful candidate will report to the group CMO and can be based anywhere on the planet and must be available for occasional regional and international travel. They will be expected to begin work as soon as possible.The ideal candidate must be fluent in French and English. Responsibilities
Develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and official accounts management and content creation (LinkedIn and Twitter)
Research and write press releases, and content for the company website, infographics, blogs, and newsletters.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.
Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up-to-date with relevant developments.
Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events.
Facilitate the resolution of disputes with external role-players.
Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy.
Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.

Requirements
Master in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
5+ years in a high level communication role
Experience and existing relations with top international medias
Good understanding of the African market economics
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent demonstration of computer literacy skills
Proven content writing and social media experience
Have a good portfolio of contacts in major agencies and media
Experience in journalism
Requirements
Master in business administration, marketing and communication or a related field
5+ years proven experience as a Marketing Manager
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Analytical and creative skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fully conversant with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
Strong knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends, etc.) and Google Adwords
